The Ogun State Government has officially presented its 2026 Appropriation Bill valued at N1.668 trillion to the State House of Assembly, marking a significant 63% increase compared to the 2025 budget. The substantial rise underscores the state’s commitment to accelerating development, strengthening infrastructure, and improving social services across all sectors.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, while presenting the proposal titled “Budget of Sustainable Legacy,” emphasized that the 2026 fiscal plan is designed to consolidate achievements recorded under the ISEYA development pillars—Infrastructure, Social Well-being, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Agriculture.
According to the breakdown, the proposed budget allocates:

N624.76 billion for recurrent expenditure, covering salaries, overheads, and essential government operations.

N1.044 trillion for capital projects aimed at completing ongoing works, initiating new developmental projects, and boosting economic growth.

The governor stressed that the budget focuses on sustaining long-term progress while addressing critical needs such as road infrastructure, health, education, security, and rural development. He reiterated the administration’s determination to deliver projects that will firmly position Ogun State as a leading investment destination in Nigeria.

The Appropriation Bill will now undergo legislative review and approval by the State House of Assembly before implementation in January 2026.
This major fiscal move signals Ogun State’s drive towards sustainable growth, improved public services, and enhanced livelihood for its citizens.
