I Was Shot Repeatedly, Yet No Bullet Touched Me” — Pastor Chris Okafor Opens Up on 58 Days in Kidnappers’ Den

Pastor Chris Okafor narrates his terrifying 58-day kidnapping ordeal, revealing how kidnappers repeatedly shot at him, chained and blindfolded him, and forced him into violent encounters, while he relied on faith to survive.

Popular Nigerian cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, has shared a chilling account of the traumatic experience he went through during his 58-day captivity in the hands of kidnappers, describing it as a journey that brought him face to face with death.

Speaking during a church service, the pastor recounted how he was violently attacked multiple times while in captivity, yet miraculously escaped without a single bullet penetrating his body.
According to him, the kidnappers opened fire repeatedly in what he described as a war-like situation.

“I was shot again and again. They were shooting sporadically; it was like a war zone. They kept shooting, but not a single bullet entered my body because I was too surrounded to surrender,” he said.

Pastor Okafor attributed his survival to divine protection, adding:
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”

He went on to describe the inhumane conditions under which he was held. For nearly two months, he said he was blindfolded, chained, and left with almost no clothing, with only a boxer covering his body throughout the ordeal.
“I was blindfolded with chains on my hands, and the only covering on me was a boxer,” he revealed.
In a more disturbing revelation, the pastor disclosed that the kidnappers repeatedly placed him and the former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly inside the boot of an SUV and transported them to dangerous locations.

Three times, they carried us and put us inside the boot of their vehicle to go and attack police stations. Three times, they were exchanging gunfire with the police while we were there, chained and blindfolded,” he said.

The cleric’s testimony highlights the extreme danger and psychological torture he endured during the kidnapping, as well as the role his faith played in keeping him alive through the ordeal.
Since his disclosure, Pastor Chris Okafor’s story has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many expressing shock, gratitude for his survival, and renewed conversations about insecurity and kidnapping in Nigeria.
