Super Eagles Captain William Troost-Ekong Announces Retirement From International Football

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has officially announced his retirement from international football, bringing an emotional end to a remarkable career with the Nigerian national team. The announcement marks the conclusion of a decade-long journey during which Ekong established himself as one of the most reliable defenders in Africa.
Troost-Ekong leaves the Super Eagles after earning 83 international caps, representing Nigeria with pride and consistency. Over the course of his career, he became a key figure in the team’s defence, known for his leadership, composure, and commitment on and off the pitch.
