Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have successfully arrested members of a notorious car-snatching gang responsible for multiple vehicle thefts across Abuja.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation launched after several reports of stolen vehicles within the city. The gang, known for targeting high-value cars, had been on the police watchlist for weeks.
During the raid, officers recovered a total sum of N15 million, believed to be proceeds from the gang’s criminal activities. Other items recovered include car documents, tools used for vehicle break-ins, and personal belongings of victims.
The FCT Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify other accomplices and recover more stolen vehicles linked to the syndicate. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
Residents of Abuja have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements as the police continue to intensify efforts to curb criminal activities in the city.
